Arc-La Crosse strives to be a major force in advocating and promoting self-determined quality of life opportunities for people with developmental and related disabilities and their families.

This will be accomplished through:

  • Public policy and program design initiatives
  • Fiscal and program support to local chapters of the Arc
  • Substantially expanded resources, which are used efficiently and effectively in carrying out statewide and local programs

Arc-La Crosse provides a variety of assistance to people with developmental and related disabilities and their families. It is a member of The Arc of The United States and has 33 local chapters. Promoting quality of life opportunities for people with developmental and related disabilities and their families means making sure proposed laws and public policies benefit people with disabilities. It also means getting involved in how services are designed and provided to make sure quality programs exist which benefit the individuals and their families. Training people with disabilities to be self-advocates and to be able to speak directly about their concerns is also part of The Arc’s mission. The Arc- La Crosse is a strong membership organization and people with disabilities, family members, and concerned citizens set the agenda and priorities for the organization always keeping in mind the mission of promoting quality of life opportunities.
